ESSC mourns the loss of its member Professor Pierre Binétruy

The European Space Sciences Committee members and secretariat are deeply saddened by the untimely death of one of its most active members, Pierre Binétruy.

Pierre was a unanimously appreciated and respected colleague. His immense contribution to the themes of cosmology, gravitation, physics and astrophysics of high energy, and finally gravitational waves, is recognised throughout the world.

Pierre was committed to the work of the ESSC and to the advancement of European space sciences, ready to discuss, explain and interact in order to finally reach constructive meaningful and substantiated positions. Besides his contribution to ESSC he has been involved in many European and international bodies, making him a true enthusiast global player.

Pierre was an outstanding scientist and a very good person, we will sorely miss him.
