Research Interests

High Energy Astrophysics, Extragalactic Astrophysics

FABRIZIO FIORE is an expert of High Energy Astrophysics, Space  sciences,  and  Extragalactic  Astrophysics,  in  particular  on  observations  of  physics  of Active Galactic  Nuclei  and  Gamma  Ray  Bursts. He is Dirigente di Ricerca since 2016, and Director of INAF-OATs since 2021.  He was Director of  INAF Osservatorio Astronomico di Roma from 2012 to 2017.  He was member of the ESA Member of the  ESA Astrophysical Working Group and ESA Future Technology Advisor Panel from  2010  to 2014. He was member of INAF Scientific Council from 2005 to 2007. He was Science coordinator for ESAM3 proposal New Hard  X-ray Mission (NHXM) and Deputy Lead Scientist for the project Simbol-X.

He is currently the Scientific coordinator of the projects HERMES-Technologic Pathfinder, founded by ASI and HERMES-Scientific Pathfinder, founded by the European Commission in the framework of the H2020 SPACE program, G.A. 821896. He is PI of the ESA OSIP project CUBE: CMA Catcher Carousel. He is WP leader in the EC H2020-INFRAIA AHEAD2020 project, GA N. 871158. He is Member of the ATHENA Science Team. Chair of the Advanced science analysis tools panel in the Athena Science Ground Segment and member of the X-IFU Instrument and Science Centre.
